Function Description:

Inserts a linked or embedded object.

Dialog Box Options:

Create New

Creates a new inserted object by the highlighted application program in the Object Type list.

Object Type: Lists all available application programs which support linking and embedding. Users can embed an object by double-clicking an application program. In the "File" menu of application program, the Save option replaces the Update option. Users can insert the object into the drawing or update the object by selecting Update option.
Display as Icon: Displays the icon of the source application in the drawing. Double-clicking the icon displays the linked or embedded information.

Specifies a file to link or embed.

File: Specifies the path and name of the file to be linked or embedded.
Browse: Displays the Browse dialog box, in which users can select a file to link or embed.
Link: Creates a link to the selected file rather than embedding it.
Display as Icon:Displays the icon of the source application in the drawing. Double-clicking the icon displays the linked or embedded information.

Displays the text description of operation results.
