Function Description:

This command is used to create an aligned linear dimension.

Command Prompts:

Extension line origin

Specifies the first and second extension line origin points.

Select object

After selecting the object, the dimension extension lines automatically turns up and are parallel to the selected object. If selecting a polyline or other objects that can be exploded, the DIMALIGNED command can only create dimensions for separately line and arc segments. Users can not select non-uniform scaled block reference object.
If selecting a line or an arc, the endpoints are used as extension line origins. User can modify Offset from origin in Lines label of New, Modify, and Override dialog box (DIMSTYLE). The DIMEXO system variable can also change the value of Offset from origin.
If selecting a circle, the diameter endpoints are used as extension line origins and the selected point defines the first extension line origin.

Dimension line location

Specifies the location and direction of the dimension line. The DIMALIGNED command ends by specifying its location.

Mtext

Users can edit the dimension text by In-place Text Editor.
Value in angle bracket (\<>) means generated measured value. Users can add something to value by adding a prefix before angle bracket or adding a suffix after angle bracket; they can also input special characters or symbols by control code or Unicode character strings.

Users can edit or replace the measured value by deleting angle bracket (\<>) and inputting new annotation text, and then clicking "OK".
If the unit conversion is off, users can input square bracket ([]) to display them.
The current dimension style determines the appearance of the generated measurements.

Text

Customizes the dimension text at the command prompt.
The generated dimension measurement is displayed in angle brackets (\<>). Enter the dimension text or accept generated measurement by pressing ENTER. If the unit conversion is off, users can enter square brackets ([]) to display them.
User can reset the dimension style in "Text" tab of New, Modify, and Override in Dimension Style Manager dialog box.
