DIMEDIT Command

Function Description:

This command is used to edit the dimension text and extension line. This command can rotate, modify or restore dimension text, as well change the oblique angle of extension lines. When moving dimension text and extension lines, it is equivalent to DIMTEDIT command.

Command Prompts:

Enter type of dimension editing [Home/New/Rotate/Oblique] \<Home>:

Home

Moves rotated dimension text back to its default position. The selected dimension text is returned to its default position and rotation as specified in its dimension style.

New

Edits dimension text by In-place Text Editor. The generated measurement is represented with angle brackets (\<>) . Users can enter special characters and symbols by control code or Unicode character strings. Users can edit or replace the generated measurement, delete the angle brackets (\<>), enter the new dimension text, and then click "OK". If alternate units are not turned on in the dimension style, users can enter square brackets ([]) to display them.

Rotate

Rotates the dimension text. This option is similar to the Angle option of DIMTEDIT command. Entering 0, the text is placed in its default orientation, which is determined by the vertical and horizontal text settings on the Text tab of the New, Modify and Override Dimension Style Manager dialog box.

Oblique

The Oblique option is useful when the extension lines conflict with other features of the drawing. The oblique angle is measured from the X axis of the UCS.
