SCALE Command

Function Description:

This command is used to zoom in or zoom out the selected objects and keep the proportions the same during the operation.
Users can specify a scale base point and a scale factor to zoom. The base point is the scaling center that keeps still. The selected object becomes larger when the scale factor is greater than 1 and it is smaller when the value is between 0 and 1.
The base point will keep still, although the selected object has changed its size.
Note: On the annotative objects, the SCALE command can scale them relative to the base point, but the dimension of objects is not change.

Shortcut: Select the object and right-click, and then click Scale

Command Prompts:

Select object:
Select base point:
Specify scale factor or [Copy/Reference] \<1.0000>:

Scale factor

Scales the selected objects by a specified scale factor. The selected objects become larger when the value of scale factor is greater than 1 and it is smaller when the value is between 0 and 1. Users can also scale objects by dragging the cursor.

Copy

Creates a copy of the selected objects for scaling.

Reference

Scales the selected objects by a reference length and a specified new length.
