External Reference Palette

Function Description:

The External References palette organizes, displays and manages referenced files, such as DWG files, DWF, DWFx, PDF or DGN underlays, raster images, point clouds and coordinate models.

Palette Options:

Attach DWG button

Opens the Select Reference File dialog box, where you can select a format from the list to attach files to the current drawing.

Refresh/Reload All References button

Refreshes the list display or reloads all references to display any changes that may have occurred in the referenced files.

Help button

Opens the Help system.

File References

• / List and Tree View buttons: Clicks the buttons to switch between list and tree view.
• List of Referenced Files: Displays a list of references in the current drawing, including information such as status, size and date of creation. Double-click the file name to edit it.

Details

Displays information or a preview image of a selected reference.

• / Details and PREVIEW buttons: Clicks the buttons to switch from the details display to a thumbnail preview.
• Details: Provides information about the file selected under File References. You can modify some information by clicking the right column.
• Preview: Shows a thumbnail image of the selected file under File References.
